Local retail giant Apparel Group has revealed details on a new venture for one of its most iconic brands.
The company, responsible for fashion labels Saba, Willow and Sportscraft, has confirmed it will release the first pieces from a new Sportscraft Activ category this month.
The debut range, designed to tackle the women's activewear market, aims to provide high performance pieces and essential wardrobe sportswear solutions, “designed with style, performance and comfort in mind”.
The first Sportscraft Activ garments will be available in select Sportscraft free-standing stores nationwide and online from this week, with product priced from $39.00 up to $159.00. Pieces have been split into three specific category offerings – 'Make Tracks', 'Stretch Out' and 'Unwind'.
Product has been crafted from technical garment fabrics and also includes moisture-wicking draws sweat away from the skin and quick dry fabric to prevent clothes from sticking to the body.
Anti-bacterial treatments have also been applied across fabrics to inhibit bacteria growth and kill bacteria. Garments have also been specifically manufactured with ingredients to shield skin from ultra violet (UV) rays, providing 50+ UV protection.
Certain styles also feature reflective printing, which allows for higher visibility after dark, bright magenta and cobalt blue panels, and a floral bloom print paneling applied in the hero legging and jacket combination.
Commenting on the launch of the new category for the brand, Apparel Group CEO Daniel Bracken said the time was right to cater to this growing market.
“Activewear is a new category for Sportscraft, and complements our brand personality which speaks to the Australian way of life.”
“We know health and well-being are a high priority in the mindset of our customers, and more Australians are adding fitness to their list of pursuits. Activ will allow us to provide our customers a 360 degree lifestyle offering of high quality activewear at an accessible price point.”
