Global online marketplace Amazon has launched its ‘Amazon Haul’ concept in Australia, offering hundreds of thousands of products at ultra-low prices.

The concept appears to be a capitalisation on the ‘haul’ trend, where consumers buy items in bulk at low prices and reveal the goods in social media content. This trend is most notable on products sold by ultra-low price platforms Shein and Temu.

With Amazon Haul, the US-born marketplace will offer products across fashion, home, and lifestyle for less than $25 each. Amazon Haul is now available through the Amazon Shopping app in Australia, and follows the rollout of the initiative in the United States, the United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia, Germany, the UAE and Mexico.

The add-on has its own shopping experience, search, basket and checkout, with orders typically arriving in two weeks or less. The move also comes as consumer spending remains subdued.

To mark the launch of Haul in Australia, Amazon is setting a 60 per cent off discount for two weeks across all Haul products, with discount applied at checkout. Australian customers are also being offered 5 per cent off orders over $65, and 10 per cent off orders over $100.

Also for a limited time, Amazon Haul offers free delivery on orders over $40, or a standard delivery charge of $11.99 on orders below $40.

“Since launching Amazon in Australia in 2017, we have been constantly innovating to provide competitive prices and the best possible shopping experience for our customers, and this is another way we can deliver value for Australians on a wide selection of products,” Amazon Marketplace Australia country manager Amit Mahto said.

“Australians seek out value and convenience when they shop online, and we’re excited to provide more options through the shopping app they already know and love.”

Alongside the above benefits, Amazon will also offer customers the opportunity to return items within 15 days of receipt and change of mind conditions are met.
