Country Road Group sales have increased by 5.1% over the financial year.

The Group saw a marked improvement in the second half, with newly-acquired Politix adding 3.7% to growth.

Sales in comparable stores declined by 0.4%.

Country Road’s above-market performance reflects the changes made to the business over the past 18 months.

This includes ongoing improvements to ranges during the year.

In an exclusive interview with Ragtrader magazine earlier this year, Country Road head of design Jane Wilkinson revealed a focus on transeasonal ranging.

This included designing in three month over one month blocks, avoiding double ups and creating more unity in design stories.

Ian Moir, CEO of Country Road Group parent company Woolworths, said while market conditions remained tough, it would continue to deliver.

"We are confident that our strategies will deliver a future-fit business capable of long term profitable growth."
