Adidas reveals new format for Australia

Adidas has reopened its Chadstone store as the first site in the Pacific to carry its 'Home of Sport' format, following a three-month transformation.

The store returned on Friday 4 September after closing on 31 May, with the brand trading from a pop-up within the centre from 4 June while work was underway.

Selling space has expanded to 569 square metres, with the additional floorspace given over to a dedicated Originals shop-in-shop. The fit-out uses the newest Collection V2 format and is a first for the market.

Large footwear displays run across the full category range, spanning Running, Training, Football and Originals. The store also introduces a market-first 'Made For You' zone at the point of sale, where customers can have heat-pressed patches, name sets and more applied directly onto product before they leave.

The site sits within one of the largest retail destinations in the country, with Chadstone drawing more than 22 million visitors a year.

A free program of activations ran across the launch weekend through to Sunday 6 September.

Customers could create one-of-a-kind pieces at the Chop Shoppe atelier service or book a bespoke set of nails with Trophy Wife, alongside a photobooth printing custom photostrips and on-the-spot styling advice from Billy Chambers. An engraved key charm for customers or their pets was offered as a gift with purchase.

In partnership with Green Cup and Fresh Amalfi Pasta, the first 200 customers through the door took home handmade pasta and a bespoke smoothie.

The Chadstone opening is the newest addition to the Adidas Pacific fleet.
