It's the $200 million acquisition that will give this retailer a real booting.
RCG Corporation, parent company of The Athlete's Foot, will fork out up to $200 million for New Zealand's Accent Group.
Accent Group holds distribution rights for Dr Martens, Timberland, Vans and operates retail chain Platypus Shoes.
The acquisition will bump up RCG's store numbers by 97 to 269 and drive total sales from $267 million to $450 million.
It will also expand its brand portfolio from six to 13 licenses.
RCG is aiming to generate $125 million through capital raising with shareholders and investors.
