Wintergarden in Brisbane’s Queen Street Mall has opened a pop-up 3D Print Studio.
Available in centre now, it offers shoppers 3D printing technology which creates personalised jewellery onsite.
The free activation allows customers to choose their own piece from a range of rings and bracelets, modify the design to suit including colour choice, add initials, print and wear – all within minutes.
Centre executive Scott O'Donoghue said this is revolutionary.
"We’ve embraced the latest technologies to revolutionise the shopping journey for our customers.
“This activation provides an unrivalled in-store experience and we are thrilled to be leading the field in this area.”
The printers can create a number of jewellery pieces, from rings to bracelets, each customised by colour, design, thickness and size.
Depending on the style chosen, the pieces can take from 15 minutes through to one hour to print.
Each of the four 3D printers, owned by the centre, have a microscopic camera installed so that the printing process can be viewed either on the central monitor within the studio or by passers-by via the television screen in the window.
“Being able to not only design a custom jewellery piece, but also watch it being printed is a fascinating process – we love seeing the Studio being used to full effect,” O’Donoghue said.
Wintergarden’s 3D Print Studio will run until August this year.
