Australian sportswear brand 2XU has launched a new brand category.
GHST is based on the company's lightest fabric X-LITE PRO, which aims to allow infrared heat blocking technology, moisture management and breathability, zero cling or chafe and 50+ UV sun protection.
X-LITE PRO reportedly weighs 40 per cent less than the athletic fabric standard at 86gsm.
The move comes after 2XU beat out global competitors to secure a supply contract with the Navy Seals.
The first drop of X-LITE PRO features a new running top and singlet with reflective detailing and contoured raglan sleeves, with more to items to be released throughout winter.
2XU have enlisted a range of brand ambassadors from Australia and New Zealand to test run the new category including runners, triathletes, surf ironman and taekwondo champions.
2XU was founded in Melbourne in 2005 and has since formed partnerships with with numerous sports including triathlon, cycling, NBA, swimming, netball, AFL, soccer, NRL, NFL and running.
The company is currently the exclusive official compression supplier to the Australian Institute of Sport.
The GHST range will be available in men's and women's styles.
