The Iconic has released its Annual Progress Report, detailing how it is tracking on its sustainability initiatives.
Coinciding with the launch of its first virtual runway show, Runway Everywhere, and its Annual Progress Roundtable, the report defines and transparently shares the business’ 2020 - 2025 sustainability and diversity, inclusion and body-positivity objectives and includes its progress in these areas to date.
Key milestones the business has achieved this year include the introduction of 100% recycled plastic delivery satchels, donation of $101,732 to a range of charitable initiatives since January 2020 and the expansion of size-inclusive labels, with 23 of The Iconic's top 50 brands incorporating size extensions in their fashion assortment.
The Iconic CEO Erica Berchtold said that while 2020 has been challenging, the eTailer has remained committed to its sustainability mission.
"When we launched our inaugural Annual Progress Report in November last year, little did we know the challenges that would lie ahead.
"For The Iconic, 2020 became a year that would see us further commit to our sustainability, diversity and inclusion targets whilst we, like so many others, were forced to pivot and recalibrate priorities in order to weather the COVID-19 storm.
"It's fair to say 2020 has tested us like no other year ever has, but despite all that's been thrown at us, I'm proud of the incredible number of milestones we've achieved this year.
"From the introduction of 100% recycled satchel packaging, to the development of our first Reconciliation Action Plan, meaningful progress has been made.
"While there's still work to do, if we can make this much progress in our most challenging year to date, imagine what we can achieve in the years to come," she said.
