It will be a sombre Christmas for 1600 Pumpkin Patch employees, who will lose their jobs up to February.
The childrenswear retailer failed to attract a buyer after being placed in receivership in October.
Over 60 head office positions have already been terminated since the failed sale of business.
A fire sale will run across Australia and New Zealand until February, as receivers Korda Mentha move to liquidate stock.
Pumpkin Patch recorded a full year loss of $15.5 million in FY2016.
The retailer's debt to secured lender ANZ increased from $39.1 million to $46 million during this period.
At the time of appointment, receiver Brendon Gibson said there had been interest in reviving the brand.
“A number of parties have already expressed interest in the business. Our hope is that new owners can be found to build on Pumpkin Patch’s heritage as an iconic brand in New Zealand and Australia."
Pumpkin Patch employed 1600 workers across Australia and New Zealand through a network of 160 stores.
