B2B fashion wholesale platform JOOR has been an essential tool for Australian brands looking to go global.
JOOR was built to revolutionize the way fashion buyers and brands work together by digitizing the wholesale process and helping to nurture long-lasting retail partnerships. Australian brands in particular have found great success using the software, including some of Asia Pacific’s most famous names such as Zimmermann, Aje,, Alémais, Seafolly, Posse, and SIR the label.
Despite being geographically distant from the main global fashion hubs of London, Milan, Paris and New York, JOOR has made it possible for brands from the Asia Pacific region to connect with key fashion power players through its digital trade show experience JOOR Passport. By integrating virtual showrooms, B2B order-taking tools and digital trade shows, JOOR’s unique events allow Australian brands to seamlessly transact with retailers from anywhere in the world.
In 2023, the platform collaborated with Afterpay x Australian Fashion Week to allow buyers who could not attend the physical event to shop catwalk collections and place orders directly with participating brands via the JOOR platform. A JOOR x WeWearAustralian showcase at New York Fashion Week earlier this year connected Australian brands with international buyers once again, but also included an in-person event on the New York Fashion Week schedule. This immersive shopping experience allowed designers, including Ngali, Viktoria & Woods and Acler to present their collections and speak with some of the industry’s most influential buyers, —an invaluable opportunity to make new retail connections.
International demand for Australian designs is growing, and for brands looking to start selling overseas, JOOR is the perfect marketplace to facilitate expansion. Sales of Australian brands on the platform have increased 43% over the last five years, and since January 2025, Australian brands have increased their wholesale sales by 14%. International sales drive the majority of this growth, as more and more of JOOR's global network of 675,000 vetted buyers start to discover the true breadth and versatility of Australian fashion.
Asia Pacific brands looking to expand into international markets often need help making themselves accessible to foreign stockists. It can sometimes feel like a catch-22 when buyers are unable to fly to visit showrooms in person, yet smaller brands cannot afford to take the risk of travelling to an international trade show.
Local jewellery and accessories brand Arms of Eve already had showrooms that catered well to their Australian clients, but traditional in-person appointments failed to resonate with American clients who preferred to do business on JOOR. In order to expand into new territories without having to set foot outside of their office, the brand used JOOR Discover, the platform’s latest tool to connect brands with relevant buyers, to grow their pool of retailer connections.
“Since joining JOOR, our wholesale sales volume has more than tripled”, says Zilla Gilmour, Wholesale Manager of Arms of Eve. “Thanks to JOOR, we’ve found 129 new retail partners, generating a remarkable increase in our wholesale GMV in less than a year. The revenue from these newfound partnerships now constitutes 77% of our orders on JOOR and nearly 30% of our total wholesale GMV. JOOR has far exceeded our expectations in helping us expand our wholesale reach and increase revenue.”
Australian swimwear brand Zulu and Zephyr first joined JOOR in 2016 and set up an integration with Cin7, their ERP warehouse for better end-to-end data visibility. With smoother operations, the brand has been able to spend less time on manual data entry and more time on other areas of business, like increasing sales. As a result, they’ve become an internationally recognized contemporary brand with over 100 retail partners worldwide.
"JOOR became our source of truth for all our product information”, says Mel Colman, General Manager at Zulu & Zephyr. “We were able to easily upload all our product images, style information, and sizes to JOOR and then export them to use in our ecommerce shopping experience on Shopify. This innovation not only saved us time but also made sure our offering was aligned across wholesale and DTC channels.”
