Brands get New Twist
Studibaker and Smith & Miles announce they have been sold for an undisclosed sum to Alexandria-headquartered fashion house New Twist. The deal, brokered by Stenton Capital and effective from December 1, includes the brands, all intellectual property, winter season orders and all stock.
Couture in Bendigo
Organisers of what has been billed Australia's largest haute couture exhibition reveal the likes of Christian Dior, Cristobal Balenciaga and Hubert de Givenchy will shortly be making their presence felt at Bendigo Art Gallery, in regional Victoria. The exhibition opens in December.
Myer cautious
Myer reveals its operations in three regional towns - Dubbo and Wagga Wagga (NSW) and Bendigo (Vic) - have been affected by the global downturn. The department store has withdrawn the sale of flagship sites in all three, claiming financial pressures no longer made the sales viable.

Melbourne fashion and lifestyle retailer Hummingbird60 announces the release of its Hazel womenswear collection for spring summer. Targeting young women, the label will launch for the season with a range of frocks and feminine essentials, with prices for signature dresses averaging around $179.
