E-provider a boon for labels
NATIONAL: Jewellery label Batami Design and swimwear specialist Kini Bikini are the latest Australian brands to have signed up to fashion oriented DIY website provider Picaholic. A Picaholic spokesperson also confirmed the firm has recently re-launched with an enhanced, more user friendly system.
Launched in 2005 in Australia and now registered in the US - with a Los Angeles headquarters - Picaholic catered for global clients including fashion designers, make-up artists, stylists and photographers.
"Gone are the days where you need to employ web designers, graphics designers and programmers to create a cool website. Picaholic has removed that need and cost and built a system where designers can create their own flash site in a matter of hours."
Other Australian labels using Picoholic included Santos Wish, This Is Genevieve, The Cassette Society, and Strictly Limited Couture, the spokesperson said.
"With minimal technological knowledge and an easy to use content management system, designers can log in to Picaholic Admin and add content using text, images, videos and music, before choosing how they want their site to look."
Meanwhile Picaholic was also currently working on an e-commerce version that would seamlessly integrate with any of the current sites. Any member who signed up in 2008 would get free integration with the e-commerce module.
Santos Wish founder Kellee Cruse said the provider had revolutionised her business.
“Picaholic totally 'get' it. The team is a fantastic (and unusual mix) of genius technology and cool. They understand my market (fashion) and made the best recommendations. My business was bubbling along nicely, but when Picaholic implemented my website, business boiled over."
