Designers give for good cause

SYDNEY: More than 50 of the country's most high profile designers will provide garments for annual charity fundraising event An Evening with Our Designers. Hosted by Sydney mall The Strand, the event features high-end fashion shows, entertainment and industry workshops.

It concludes with a silent auction, the proceeds of which go to the Sydney Breast Cancer Foundation's Pink Ribbon campaign.

The list of designers who have committed to taking part in the event including Alex Perry, Bettina Liano, Jayson Brundson, Fleur Wood, Bowie and Akira Isogawa.

Perry said the designers got as much out of the event as the general public.

"An Evening with Our Designers offers a rare opportunity for us to showcase our latest collections at a grass roots level where we can actually get to meet the people who buy the clothes and engage with the brand," he said.

The October 21 event will be hosted by Antonia Kidman.
