TCF Review findings imminent

MELBOURNE: The Minister for Innovation, Industry, Science and Research Senator Kim Carr has confirmed he will release the findings of the Federal Government's TCF Review tomorrow (September 19). Hopes are high that the review, announced in March, will provide a long awaited industry shake up with tariff levels, skills shortages and funding infrastructure all up for scrutiny.

Conducted by Professor Roy Green, dean of Sydney's Macquarie Graduate School of Management, the review consulted closely with an industry reference group including textile industry, union, research and educational representatives.

Around 80 submissions were received from businesses and workers in the TCF industry.

A spokesman for Senator Carr said the announcement would take place in Melbourne at 12.45pm. Online copies of the report will be available at the Department of Innovation, Industry, Science and Research's web site at www.innovation.gov.au/tcfreview from 12.45pm.
