La La Land
"It's paparazzi paradise". So quipped one guest attending the Rosemount Sydney Fashion Festival, who noted a formidable presence of fashion and media celebrities at the week-long event. A case in point: Shoe designer Terry Biviano and radio personality Bianca Dye were snapped on their way to a runway show.
A worthy Target
Value retailer Target celebrated the 10th year of its 'Fashion Targets Breast Cancer' campaign with a spectacular runway show. Staged on the opening night of the Rosemount Sydney Fashion Festival, the show saw the likes of Tara Moss, Kate Waterhouse, Sarah Murdoch and Anneliese Seubert take to the catwalk in luxurious gowns by Alex Perry. Pictured is fashion designer Peter Morrissey, television personality Charlotte Dawson and IMG top gun Simon Lock.
It's easy being green
Those who missed out on the 'Fashion Means The World' charity event in aid of the World Wildlife Fund may have been green with envy, but they weren't the only ones basking in the emerald hue. Guests at the green fashion event - held at Melbourne hot spot Club Ffour on August 6 - were treated to catwalk parades of 'eco' labels including local jewellery label Joolz (pictured). Prizes at the night's charity auction also included a Joolz necklace.
Perry princesses
While Rosemount's Sydney Fashion Festival last month was primarily focused on consumers, not all businesses were out to make a quick buck. Designer Alex Perry, with the support of Mastercard, was among those chasing a more noble cause after staging a show on behalf of the McGrath Foundation. Featuring his ready-to-wear bridal collection plus highlights of his current range, Perry finished the show by discussing fashion's do's and don'ts with all proceeds from ticket sales donated to the charity set up by cricketer Glen McGrath and his late wife Jane. Pictured is Perry with Jane's best friend Tracey Bevan.
In like Flint
If the motorbike staged out the front wasn't a strong enough hint about the intended audience for Flint Eyewear's latest collection then the razor-armed Bondi barber or his smart shoe shine colleague surely gave the game away. On a mission to raise money for the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia, invited guests sipped on vodka martinis in the luxurious surrounds of Sydney's Crystal Bar while previewing the brand's latest collection. Pictured is Flint designer Alana Taylor (third from right) with Susie Carroll and promotional models Emma and Bec.
Hit for six
Australian fashion entrepreneur Bruno Schiavi is quite the chameleon. Fresh from recent product collaborations with celebrity plastic surgeon Dr Robert Ray and American icon Priscilla Presley, Schiavi took the cricket fields for his next branding bout. A select number of guests were invited to celebrate the launch of Acestar, his new underwear line with cricketing star Brett Lee, at upmarket Sydney restaurant Pink Salt. Models dressed in nothing more than Acestar's made their rounds throughout the evening while guests sipped on French Martini's and indulged in warm canapes. Pictured: Brett Lee and Bruno Schiavi.
