MELBOURNE: As its start date draws near, trade fair Fashion Exposed (FEX) has unveiled a bevy of last minute confirmations. Firstly, reality TV show Project Runway will weave its media magic at the expo - which runs from September 14 to 16 - with two 'Runway' contestants, Helen Manuell and finalist Petrova Hammond, set to showcase in the new 'Design Evolution' precinct.

Design Evolution was created to allow FEX attendees to revisit the past successes of the fair, a spokesperson for FEX confirmed.

"Presenting the latest collections from previous participants, Design Evolution will include Gretchen Hillhouse Design, Handmade by Tania Angeli, Sweezy, Isisis and Soul by Deanna."

Helen Manuell was also reportedly due to unveil a new ready to wear collection at Design Evolution, the spokesperson confirmed.

In other FEX news, UK menswear brand Duck & Cover has also confirmed its attendance. Introduced to this country by Sydney importer Rare Breed Distribution, the move represented the brand's official Australian launch.

"Duck & Cover - established in 1996 in the UK - is directional men's streetwear with a definite edge. The brand offers finely detailed knitwear, streamlined jacketing with exceptional detailing, fantastic shirting and denim with classic cuts and incredible washes that only a UK fashion emporium like this is capable of."

Meanwhile FEX would also continue its ARA Hot Half Hour program, launched in Sydney this year. Comprising free sessions, the program featured two subject areas: Retail Sales and Service and Managing Retail Options. A range of topics would be covered including; buying profitably, planning store layout to maximise sales, the value of building relationships with customers and recruiting the right team.
