SYDNEY: The late founder of fashion label Marcs will be honoured during a special event being staged by the Sydney Cancer Centre Foundation (SCCF). The group, which aims to support cancer care and research will host a father's day lunch as a tribute to Mark Keighery, who lost his long battle with cancer in July.
The lunch, on September 2, will be staged at Sydney's Wildfire Restaurant.
Keighery, a father-of-two who lived in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs, was first diagnosed with kidney cancer in 1999. He sold his booming Marcs fashion empire to Orotongroup for $22 million in 2002 to focus on his health struggle.
The label is now owned by Sydney fashion group M Webster Holdings.
