ONCE UPON A TIME: Who needs friends when you've got partnerships? Jewellery creator Zoe Sernack (Zoumou) and womenswear designer Daniel Avakian recently teamed up to create a collection based around the idea of a modern fairytale.

Dubbed 'A Night in The Secret Garden', it combined the best of both disciplines with a series of dresses embellished with structural motifs. Industry members and celebrity clients saw the range come alive at Sydney nightspot Fringe Bar, which was transformed into an urban jungle of plants, dusty bookcases and picket fences.

The launch was designed to promote a new bespoke service offered by Avakian and Sernack which would allow customers to purchase one-off, couture creations. Starting at $500 for single garments to $5000 for couture-style dresses, the items are fully corseted and feature laser-cut jewellery pieces. A representative for Zoumou said the launch event was an ode to the catwalks of Paris, with each skirt created using 12 metres of luxury fabric. Cinderella, eat your heart out.
