SYDNEY: Australian Fashion Laureate Akira Isogawa will be on hand to witness the next winner take their place in history. The womenswear designer, who was presented with the esteemed title at Rosemount Australian Fashion Week last year, has been confirmed to attend the 2008 ceremony on August 11.
Isogawa beat out distinguished nominees Carla Zampatti, Collette Dinnigan, Jayson Brunsdon and Nicholas Huxley to take the first ever Laureate prize.
Organisers of the annual prize IMG Fashion and the New South Wales Government have confirmed this year's event would not include a short list of finalists.
The 2008 Australian Fashion Laureate will be presented at The Westin Sydney on Monday 11 August, as a prelude to the Rosemount Sydney Fashion Festival.
