Doncaster unveils latest trio
MELBOURNE: Re-developed shopping centre Westfield Doncaster has revealed a trio of latest roll outs with the opening of Big W, Target and a new childrenswear precinct. The centre would roll out 1700 new parking spaces on Thursday August 7 in anticipation of heightened customer traffic, confirmed Westfield Doncaster centre manager Rachele Godridge.
"The arrival of two new department stores is a major milestone for the $600 million redevelopment. They will anchor a childrenswear precinct that complements other sections such as the urban street wear precinct," she said.
Target at Doncaster would comprise 6,200 square metres of fashion apparel and footwear, as well as homewares and entertainment merchandise, while a team of 120 had been recruited from the local area to staff the new store.
Meanwhile at 65,000 square feet, Big W Doncaster was set to carry a large range of fashion, apparel and general hard goods merchandise.
The new childrenswear precinct would offer leading brands including Esprit Kids, Pumpkin Patch, Kids Central, Cotton On Kids, Adair Kids, Pelican’s Belly and Tree House. Industrie Kids and Seed would further complement the children’s wear offer over the coming weeks.
Other upcoming store openings at the centre included Jeans West, Cotton On, Lonsdale, Supre, Puma, Jay Jays and Wittner Shoes.
Godridge said local shoppers had embraced the new stores at Doncaster, as well as the tailored services offered by the Westfield Butler and gizmo – the technology support service.
"We are just 10 weeks from the completion of the Westfield Doncaster re-development project. Come mid-October, Westfield Doncaster will be a world-class shopping destination with beautifully appointed fashion stores, a gourmet fresh food market and an unrivalled suite of tailored services."
