Incentives for green TCF firms
NATIONAL: The Australian TCF Network (ATCFN) has volunteered to lend its expertise to any textile, clothing and footwear companies keen to take advantage of the federal government's new $75 million Climate Ready program. The program, details of which were announced by Minister for Innovation, Industry, Science and Research Kim Carr yesterday (July 29), aims to support Australian businesses developing new products, processes and services to tackle climate change.
The scheme works by providing dollar-for-dollar support for research and development, proof-of-concept and early-stage commercialisation activities.
Senator Carr said applications for grants were welcome from any company developing innovative solutions to address climate change impacts.
"A borad range of applications are expected in areas as diverse as water recycling, waste recovery, small scale renewable energy technologies, green building materials and other products, processes and biotechnology that address the effects of climate change on people and the environment."
ATCFN manager Peter Kreitals urged all TCF companies considering exploring opportunities to access the funding to get in touch via ATCFN's Melbourne office.
