David Jones announces new signings

NATIONAL: Department store David Jones has announced a list of nearly 20 exclusive new signings across its womenswear, menswear, childrenswear, footwear and accessories categories. The list, released this morning, is the result of an extensive 12 month review by the store's management team of the performance of all existing brands in its portfolio.

David Jones CEO Mark McInnes said the new signings include swimwear brand Jets, which will boast its own concepts stores across DJs key CBD stores, Speedo Swimwear, Hotel Bondi Swim and Gorman.

The list of new menswear brands signed to the retailer includes Aussie streetwear brand Zane Robe, suiting brand Canali, casualwear brand American Apparel, Dutch brand Scotch & Soda and denim label Energie.

On the accessories and footwear front the retailer has inked new deals with Witchery Sunglasses, Cole Haan, Bottega Vanetta and Hogan. It has signed just one new deal in its childrenswear department bringing homegrown label Fred Bare on board.

McInnes said the new signings signified the trust that these brands and designers had in partnering with David Jones on a long term basis.

"Our company has a track record of respecting brands and representing them in a manner that is consistent with their brand philosophy," he said.
