MELBOURNE: Childrenswear label Sudo is preparing to take on the US market next month, following an invitation to attend the Bubble Kids Trade Show in New York. One of a handful of Australian labels selected to attend the event, scheduled from August 3 to 5, Sudo plans to showcase its collection at Bubble before travelling to the West Coast for appointments in Los Angeles.

Taking place twice a year in March and August, the Bubble Kids Trade Show was widely perceived as a key event on the international buying calendar, attracting over 200 exhibitors and showcasing an international mix of brands, including both emerging and established labels, said Sudo director Terry Lay.

"We are extremely excited about breaking into the huge US market and attending the Bubble Trade event. It is a great achievement and testament to the growth of the Sudo brand to be accepted into such a renowned event. Buyers from the most prestigious stores from all over the globe attend and we have had several enquiries from stores in New York and Los Angeles already."

Targeting children aged two to 12, Sudo collections combined Melbourne style with global influences and unique designs while still embodying the current season’s trends. With most of the collection made locally, each garment was made using "superior production methods and premium quality fabrics," Lay said.

First established in 2003, Sudo is currently stocked in 45 stores across Australia and New Zealand.
