MELBOURNE: Australia's first CK Calvin Klein store is celebrating its one-year birthday, buoyed by recent data showing the Victorian capital as the nation's strongest retail magnet. A spokesperson for the brand said its first retail location in Melbourne Central shopping centre had proved successful.
"Melbourne Central was selected as the perfect destination for CK Calvin Klein’s foray into the Australian retail market. Located in the heart of a city which oozes style, class and diversity and most importantly, is renowned globally for its high calibre of shopping, Melbourne Central was the ideal location. The latest Shop Til You Drop survey of 3,000 shopping enthusiasts found that 73 per cent viewed Melbourne as the best shopping area in Australia so it seems Melbourne is still holding its crown."
Coinciding with its first birthday, the store - located on level two of the shopping centre - would showcase the CK Calvin Klein winter collection. Featuring clean, modern shapes drawing inspiration from architecture and sculpture, a strong highlight of the range was its use of technical, sophisticated, bonded and compact fabrics in cashmere, scuba stretch, wool and poly crepe, lacquered leather, silk organza and athletic mesh. The palette included shades of midnight, navy and indigo, mixed with essential black and grey hues and lightened with metallic touches.
