SYDNEY: A gamble to launch at Rosemount Australian Fashion Week (RAFW) has paid big dividends for Sydney swimwear label Hotel Bondi Swim. The brand, run by husband and wife team Fern Levack and Damion Fuller, is one of only two Australian labels that have been invited to take part in the prestigious swimwear section of Miami Fashion Week after catching the eye of IMG representatives at RAFW. Zimmermann is the ony other Aussie label scheduled to take part in the event.
While it is the first time the pair have taken their new label overseas, Fuller and Levack are not short on industry experience, with Levack spending four years at Collette Dinnigan and Fuller boasting a resumé that includes a stint as senior designer at Mambo and a partnership in Sydney label Third Millennium.
Miami Fashion Week 2009 collections run from July 18 - 21, in South Beach, Miami. Hotel Bondi Swim's show will be on July 20 at 9pm.
