Centre opens @ fashion heartland
Kangan Batman TAFE's new Centre of Fashion @ Richmond (COFAR) officially launched late last month. MP Jacinta Allan, also the Victorian Minister for Skills and Workforce Participation and Regional and Rural Development, opened the centre at a 'fashion is art' themed breakfast event, where local fashion designer Jenny Hoo featured as guest speaker. The centre features state-of-the-art facilities including StyleCAD grading and marking systems, specially designed garment construction areas and a fully operational retail shop. Getting physical
Sports brand Oakley do not believe there is any gain without pain. Hence why when the company's Ausralian arm wanted to launch a new women's lifestyle apparel brand into the market they forced Sydney-based fashion media to complete an early morning bootcamp to trial the products for themselves. The news was not all bad however with successful attendees treated to a hot show and relaxing champagne breakfast at the event conclusion. Shown enjoying the action is Kristi Townley with Nicole Adolphe and Yelena Fairfax.
Eye on the prize
Launching a spring/summer sunglasses collection is always difficult in winter, especially when the backdrop is night and the temperature just as colourful. But when your stable of brands includes Karen Walker, Le Specs, Oroton, Morrissey, Blinde, Flint and Fiorelli, it's pretty hard to go wrong. Sunshades Eyewear staged an intimate launch at the Blackett Hotel's Skyroom late last month, wooing clients and media guests with a selection of warm canapes, beverages and killer eyewear. Rise and Shine
It's never too early to talk about all that glitters, as an early-morning jewellery launch recently proved. Designer Jan Logan invited media and celebrity clients to breakfast at her Double Bay store while browsing through her latest Ponte Vecchio collection. Standout pieces, never few or far apart, included a 30 karat amethyst stone and a 4 karat rose quartz ring.
