Designer honour

NEW ZEALAND: Elizabeth and Neville Findlay, the founders of successful New Zealand clothing label Zambesi, have been jointly made officers of the New Zealand Order of Merit. The pair was awarded the honour for their services to business and fashion, in a career spaning more than 30 years.

The award follows the news the brand, which already sells across Europe, North America, Asia and the UK, will soon make a major push into the Japanese and Russian markets. Currently the brand has two flagship stores in Australia, one each in Melbourne and Sydney. It also boasts more than 20 stockists here including Blondies (VIC), Bessie Head (QLD), Marmalade (WA) and Pink Inc (ACT).
