MELBOURNE: Local label Coussinet has secured a spot in one of the world's most prestigious fashion bibles. Founded in 2001 and now boasting strong pulling power overseas, Coussinet has been selected to feature in a shoot for the autumn (northern hemisphere) issue of Italian Vogue.

Styled by international stylist Karl Plewka and featuring high profile model Lily Donaldson, the campaign would showcase pieces from Coussinet’s upcoming winter 2009 range.

Coussinet designer accessories were "an inspiration to those who love to express themselves and exude a unique sense of style", a spokesperson for the brand said.

"Idiosyncratic and eclectic scarves, wraps, belts, knitted accessories, pins, brooches and hats make up the stunning collection created by [Coussinet] designer Greta Grossberg. The diverse and artistic collection employs beautiful quality materials including woven textiles, hand felted wool, silk, leather, and tulle. The hand knitted boleros, capelets, shrugs, mini-cardigans, ponchos, and vests are exceptional, and specialised decorated pins, fabric jewellery and hats can complete any look."

Coussinet's philosophy was that outfits could be reinvented and revamped by mixing and matching with unique accessory pieces, said designer Greta Grossberg.

"I have always made a lot of my own clothes and improvised a very personal look."

Grossberg launched the label after friends showed interest in buying the pieces she wore. Coussinet now has stockists across Australia as well as in Denmark, Hong Kong, Ireland, London, Milan, New Zealand, Taiwan and Paris.
