MELBOURNE: Directional label Fat is celebrating its tenth birthday with a one-night-only exhibition and auction, dubbed 'Ten. The Great Fat Art Auction'. The event will showcase works from leading contemporary artists who have influenced Fat over the decade, including Rhys Lee, Matthew Griffin, Elke Kramer, Brendon Huntly and Pandarosa.

A spokesperson confirmed all proceeds from the night would be donated to The Immigrant Women's Domestic Violence Service (IWDVS). Located online at iwdvs.org.au, IWDVS was established to provide support and crisis intervention to victims of domestic violence from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.

Fat's birthday celebrations reflected its community minded ethos, the spokesperson said, adding that during the past 10 years, Fat stores had become an integral part of the Melbourne fashion scene, setting trends and supporting local labels and initiatives.

Fat's tenth year in business also saw the recent release of in-house label, Rainer, while the company has also re-launched its award-winning website at fat4.com.

'Ten. The Great Fat Art Auction' will be held at The Murray White Room on Tuesday 17 June 2008, commencing at 6pm, with the auction starting at 7:30pm sharp.
