MELBOURNE: Hosiery specialist Ambra has launched a range of ladder resistant hosiery, using technology originated by the company's product innovation team.

The Ladder Resist range - described as "revolutionary, extra-strong and ultra-comfortable" by an Ambra spokesperson - was designed to prevent holes in hosiery from developing into ladders.

The new range would be available from Myer and David Jones stores, independent boutiques, pharmacies and fashion retail stores nationally.

One of Australia's largest importers of women's hosiery, seamfree bodywear and underwear, Ambra Corporation has garnered a reputation for innovation since its establishment, with recent releases including an eco-friendly range.

Founded in 1992, the business was initially launched with distribution of the Levante Hosiery brand in Australia, followed by entry into the UK and NZ markets.

The Ambra brand was acquired in 1998 and now encompasses product categories including hosiery, socks, underwear and bodywear.
