BRISBANE: The Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival (MBFF) will kick off in Queensland's capital later this year with a suite of new events and features.

MBFF director Lindsay Bennett said the week long festival - opening on August 24 with a gala production at Brisbane's Gallery of Modern Art - promised a new Fashion Forum and Breakfast presented by designers Pamela Easton and Lydia Pearson - the duo behind famed Brisbane label Easton Pearson - and national womenswear buyer for David Jones, David Bush.

Under MBFF's remit of showcasing spring/summer fashion, events from previous years had also been revamped, with the Queen Street Mall parades - now titled 'Fashion Snaps' - boasting a revised format.

Fashion Snaps would run daily from August 25 and showcase fashion from Queens Plaza, Wintergarden, Brisbane Arcade, Myer Centre and Broadway on the Mall.

This year's schedule would also see the return of designer group shows, the swimwear show, the Queens Plaza High Tea and Fashion Showings as well as the Myer Centre Fashion Workshop and Morning Tea.

Bennett also confirmed Sydney designer Nicola Finetti's participation at MBFF 2008.
