NEW ZEALAND: Arrowtown-based designer Tamsin Cooper is about to lie back and think of England.
The womenswear designer leaves her Central Otago home this week for the 24-hour flight to the UK after being selected to show at design-led trade fair Pulse, in London's Earls Court.
It has been a busy few months for Cooper who earlier this year settled a bitter High Court trademark dispute with Auckland-based designer Trelise Cooper.
Cooper admitted media coverage of the spat had helped promote awareness of her own brand which was further cemented by the launch of her label's online store in October and an appearance at Dunedin's ID Fashion Show in March.
The timing of the event therefore lent itself to leverage her label into the UK and European markets, she said.
Pulse 2008 runs from June 1 to 3 and is expected to draw more than 700 exhibitors.
