CIT has designs on newscaster

CANBERRA: Television identity Lee Lin Chin is returning to the education sytem for the sake of fashion.

The SBS newsreader has been spotted on regular visits to the fashion department of Canberra Institute of Technology (CIT) in recent times.

Far from re-qualifying as a designer however, Chin's visits were intended as fitting sessions for outfits designed by CIT fashion students, a CIT spokesperson said.

Chin – renowned as a fashion lover and style guru - had readily agreed to collaborate with CIT fashion students on the design project, which would see garments, custom designed and produced for her, forming part of Vivid, Australia's first national photography festival later this year.

CIT would host exhibitions during the Vivid festival – to run from July 11 to October 12 - at its own exhibition venue, while other major Canberra institutions taking part in Vivid included the National Museum of Australia (NMA), the War Memorial and the Australian National University (ANU).
