Industry group conducts review
NATIONAL: The changing nature of the TCF sector is expected to be among the most keenly debated topics in a series of workshops being staged by industry group The Council of Textile and Fashion Industries of Australia (TFIA).
Starting tomorrow (April 23), the TFIA will stage a series of workshops to canvass industry opinion and needs, the results of which will for the basis of a submission to the TCF review panel.
Input from these sessions will be provided directly to the Federal Government to help shape government thinking on how to develop the industry.
Other topics expected to be covered in the workshops include: the current skills shortage, the effectivness of existing structural adjustment assistance, the ability of the industry to take advantage of research and development and the industry's use of and access to government programs.
The workshops will be staged April 23 and 24 at the TFIA offices in Melbourne.
