Urban Walkabout goes live

SYDNEY: A popular fashion and lifestyle shopping guide has ramped up its offering by launching a string of tours throughout Paddington, Double Bay and Sydney.

Released twice a year, the Urban Walkabout Sydney Fashion & Lifestyle Guide is a free pocket map which details key shopping precincts in Sydney. Founder Victoria Moxey said the introduction of live shopping tours was a natural extension of the brand.

"The tours take the [guides] to the streets for a more lively way to get to know the local design talent and learn more about their work to enhance your shopping experience," she said. "[Consumers] can expect to visit leading Australian and New Zealand designer's boutiques and premium retailers focused on innovative fashion, interiors and art and design."

The fashion and design tours, limited to small groups of between four and 12 people, will be conducted by Moxey and a select group of "style gurus". Priced between $75 and $95, the tours lasts for three hours and include a gift bag, VIP discounts, the latest Urban Walkabout shopping guides and lunch.

Two Paddington tours have already been locked in for the month of April with Double Bay and Surry Hills earmarked for the month of May. Moxey said she hoped to extend the tours, which will also include visits to cafes, bars and galleries, to Potts Point and Bondi.
