ADELAIDE: One of Adelaide's biggest outlet shopping destinations is set to get even bigger, with 30 new stores and over 250 jobs to be offered within coming months.

Harbour Town Adelaide has announced plans to expand its shopping precinct into the city's booming western suburbs, a move it claimed was a prompted by "robust" local demand.

National marketing manager Angela Gore said Adelaide's west was being transformed into a business and tourism hub with local, interstate and international businesses keen to secure a prime location near Adelaide Airport.

"We've already seen a significant interest from high-profile retailers keen to be part of all that's happening in and around Harbour Town's West Beach location and we're expecting to see even greater interest as the construction takes shape."

More than 400 new parking spaces are expected to be added as part of the development to cater for increased demand. Completion of the Harbour Town Adelaide expansion is set for December 2008.
