MELBOURNE: Fashion industry players donned Earth Hour tee-shirts on Thursday March 27 to launch the fashion industry's Earth Hour initiative.

United in the fight against climate change, the crowd of launch attendees gathered in central Melbourne and included designers Jenny Bannister, Gwendolynne Burkin, Richard Nylon and Arthur Galan as well as representatives from Myer and the Just Group.

Also present were Chadstone marketing manager Mardi Ashkine, founder of carbon neutral audit company Sustainability in Stonnington Penny Milstein and Earth Hour fashion industry ambassador Ann Morrison, founder of Melbourne PR agency AMPR.

On Saturday March 29 at 8pm Earth Hour 2008 would see multitudes of Melbourne businesses and households switch off their lights for one hour, joining other cities around Australia and the world in a symbolic commitment to fight climate change.
