MELBOURNE: New shoe phenomenon BelleBika has gained a foothold in the chic environs of South Melbourne.
The designer shoe label – created by design duo Romina Disisto and Anita Ukalovic – has opened its first flagship store in the suburb.
Having traded as a wholesaler since launching 18 months ago, BelleBika had found a home to showcase its unique offer to a growing female following, confirmed Romina Disisto.
"Our designs each have their own individual personalities, with colour, texture and print all vital ingredients for a BelleBika design. We are also very proud about having our shoes designed and manufactured in Australia, supporting our local industry," she said.
Retailing at between $300 and $550, the shoes were founded on a distinctive aesthetic. The designers had created shoes "to accentuate the sexiest curves on the form of the foot as one would do if designing for a woman's figure," Disisto said.
BelleBika's local manufacture ensured premium quality and short, exclusive runs, she added.
"Whoever wears our shoes can do so knowing that there won't be 150,000 other women wearing them."
A Sydney BelleBika store is planned during the next 12 months, with further outlets planned in Perth and Brisbane over the longer term.
