BRISBANE: Queensland-based designer Deanne Maiocchi will volunteer her mistakes during a free talk at QUT later this year.
The designer behind autonomous label Maiocchi will team with Check's John Prikryl to offer their take on setting up shop as part of a series of free fashion talks at the university.
Agent and commercial fashion buyer Chiu Lee kicked off this year's series last week (March 13) when she gave a lecture on what the job entails, experiences on the job and the projects she has worked on.
Other upcoming speakers include QUT's own Kay McMahon who on April 3 will discuss the latest design directions hot off the catwalk as well as artist and researcher Danielle Wilde - based at Monash University and the CSIRO division of Textile and Fibre Technology - who will speak about how technology might be paired with the body to poeticise experience.
Maiocchi and Prikryl's talk will take place on May 8.
