SYDNEY: Boutique womenswear label Ginger & Smart has revealed plans to open a second store in the new Ivy complex in Sydney.
Scheduled to open in April, the outlet will be one of five retailers occupying the exclusive Palings Lane that forms the entrance to the Ivy complex.
Designed by Sydney architecture practice AKA Studio, Ginger & Smart’s Ivy store will feature the label’s full range of luxury fashion, accessories and lifestyle products.
A spokesperson for the brand said the store was created to reflect Ginger & Smart's design aesthetic, "combining the opposing but complementary forces of hard and soft, empowerment and vulnerability, sexy and smart".
Ivy, the latest $150 million venture of entrepreneur Justin Hemmes - CEO of hospitality and entertainment empire The Merivale Group - had "re-defined Sydney’s lifestyle experiences," the spokesperson added.
The first stage of Ivy includes six bars and three restaurants. When complete the complex will boast 18 bars, nine restaurants, two penthouses and a rooftop pool.
Ginger & Smart opened its first store in Paddington’s William Street precinct in November 2006.
The label is sold across more than 100 boutiques in Australia, as well as department store David Jones. It is also stocked in 40 stores in the UK, Europe and Asia, including Browns Focus & Harvey Nichols in London, and Lane Crawford in Hong Kong.
