Taking place on March 5 on the Morell Bridge on Melbourne's Yarra River, Country Road’s AW 08 'Details That Count' collection was designed to make a strong contemporary statement with a nod to the 1960s, a Country Road spokesperson said.
"This year, guests were invited into a slick, sharp, sexy space. New shapes were paraded in a dramatic black tent incorporating a water feature finale. Complete with polished high gloss finishes, the tent opened up to reveal the panoramic backdrop of the Yarra River and Melbourne sky line."
"Key silhouettes, styling and attention to detail contrasted against textures, embellishment and a mixture of soft and hard elements."
Black on black dominated the parade, highlighted with slashes of deep orange, red and purple working off a neutral base.
"Country Road delivered a collection that is raw yet lady like, pretty yet tough with a naive 60’s feel that adds a softer edge to the range. It was super sexy, sleek and a very exciting winter season from Country Road."
