MELBOURNE: Gorman, a label already known for its environmental awareness, has further lifted its game to unveil a 2008 calendar studded with green events.
The womenswear brand has revealed a raft of "green and serene" promotions to be rolled out this year, kicking off in March, as a Gorman spokesperson confirmed.
"From March 10 to 30 we are running a promo called 'Get on Your Bike' where customers who ride their bike to Gorman and show us their bike helmet will receive 10 per cent off Gorman Organic product."
The cycling initiative would tie in well with the lead up to Earth Hour on March 29, she said. Gorman would promote Earth Hour – whereby individuals and businesses will switch off their lights for one hour from 8pm on March 29 to raise awareness of climate change - through email-outs and in-store promotions.
In May Gorman would roll out the 'Have You Got the Power?' campaign, whereby customers who came into Gorman stores nationwide and showed staff their renewable energy bill would receive 10 per cent off Gorman Organic for the month of May.
Gorman also aimed to raise awareness about World Environment Day on June 5 and had plans to develop cross promotional activities with other brands. Meanwhile from August 4 the retailer would participate in 'Shut The Door Week'.
"We will shut our door for this week and let our customers know that by shutting the door you can save a certain amount of c02 per year."
From October 3 to 5 the retailer would run a 'Walk to Gorman' weekend whereby customers who mentioned to staff that they had walked to a Gorman store would receive 10 per cent off Gorman Organic.
Finally the month of November would see Gorman unroll its 'Tram, Train, Bus and Boat' initiative, the spokesperson said.
"If you transport yourself to Gorman via public transport and show us your monthly Metcard, we will give you 10 per cent off Gorman Organic for the month."
