NATIONAL: Mudgee based online specialty jeans label Embody has introduced a touch of retro to its latest line.

Embody - which specialises in larger size jeans designed to flatter the female form - has introduced skirts to its offering for the first time, with the launch of the "Fever" range, which also incorporates flared trousers, as Embody founder Natalie Wakeling confirmed.

"The range definitely has a 1970s feeling to it, with a pencil skirt and trousers boasting a high waist and a boot cut flare. We didn't want to go too over the top with the flare, it's more of a nod to the '70s than an exact replica of what people wore back then. The denim we've used is also a very classic denim reminiscent of that era, " she said,.

The range, available in sizes 8 to 22, will retail at $189.95 for skirts and $249.95 for jeans.

Due to increasing demand for larger sizes four Embody styles - Fever, Body Love, Ice Queen and Tempt - would be available up to size 26 from April , Wakeling said.

A former plus size model, Wakeling created Embody in mid 2006 .

"With a career spanning nearly a decade in fashion I have worn my fair share of unflattering jeans. I felt there was a definite gap in the market when it came to buying beautiful jeans in the latest styles and colours that I didn't feel embarrassed to wear. Tired of having to settle for unattractive plus size jeans I felt I could offer something special that could make fashion starved women feel great."
