NATIONAL: Australian womenswear brand Sass & bide has made a triumphant return to New York Fashion Week.
Founders Sarah-Jane Clarke and Heidi Middleton unveiled their autumn/winter 2008 collection this week to a high-profile crowd which included fellow Australian designers Jayson Brunsdon, Kit Willow Michelmore and Ksubi's Dan Single.
Clarke and Middleton returned to the fashion capital after a season away while Middleton battled breast cancer.
Inspired by the sights and sounds of modern Paris, the collection included cropped singlet dresses paired with long flowing coats, bright sequined mini dresses offset with leather leggings and '50s style swing skirts.
