SYDNEY: Knitwear label POL – a subsidiary of Luxe Industries – has added denim to its offering for the first time.

The addition of denim for winter would allow customers to access a broader variety of wardrobe options within the range, confirmed Luxe Industries director Samantha Jones, adding the denim range included "must have" straight leg jeans with embroidered badging and a denim pencil skirt with deco jewellery embroidery.

"The denim is simple, in a variety of shapes and washes and just great fits to complement the knits. The Candice Skirt and the Emma Jean are adorned with the new denim logo of a 'mod' target, inspired by spirograph because I loved that as a child in the '70s. It's also in keeping with the retro theme of the brand."

"The POL winter 2008 Collection is a mix of beautiful textures and colours. Inspired by Art Deco jewellery, the surprise is in the amount of colour; including orange - a signature POL colour - and raspberry, ginger, olive, and silver grey tones. Another POL signature is the use of bold stripes, and winter shows us some great examples of why we love them. Bold engineered stripes and fun rugby stripes finishing with some striped trims."

POL began its career as a 12-piece knitwear brand three years ago, with a customer base of 16 stores across NSW only, Jones confirmed.

"We now have over 60 suppliers Australia wide, including Ruby and Min in Woollahra and Red Dog 3 in Victoria, as well as a range of stores in Tasmania and the Northern Territory. The range has expanded considerably from the original 12 items to a stronger collection with coordinating pieces of shirts and dresses. As POL continues to grow we will constantly update the offer, building the label to a brand women love to wear."
