SYDNEY: Five of Australian fashion's most high profile servents have been named among a roll call of Sydney's top 100 most influential people.

Fashion Design Studio head Nicholas Huxley, The Vintage Clothing Shop co-owner Lorraine Foster, Sass & Bide founders Sarah-Jane Clarke and Heidi Middleton, entrepreneur Belinda Seper and Ksubi designers Dan Single and George Garrow were named in the The (Sydney) Magazine list, each recognised for their influence on fashion.

David Jones CEO Mark McInnes also featured on the list in the business category.

In profile in the January issue of the magazine, published by the Sydney Morning Herald, 51-year-old Seper was credited with bringing a more personalised approach to retail in Australia while the Ksubi boys were recognised for "shaking up the 'often self-important' fashion industry".

The magazine selected 62-year-old Foster for her 20 years' spent "educating customers, fashion editors and designers about incorporating preloved clothing into their wardrobes" and Huxley for his "firm but fair" approach to spending the past 30 or so years educating some of Australia's top designers.

The panel, which included SMH fashion editor Kellie Hush, selected the Sass & Bide girls for "single-handedly popularising buttock cleavage  and the speed at which they grew their business.
