MELBOURNE: While New Year's Eve revellers steel themselves to stick to their resolutions, Westfield has already unveiled it has big plans, including a major revamp of its fashion offer, for 2008.

The shopping centre giant has unveiled an ambitious overhaul of its key Victorian centres, comprising Doncaster, the new Bay City centre in Geelong and the Plenty Valley centre in Melbourne's growing northern suburbs.

In particular Westfield Doncaster had plans to offer a premium shopping experience in Melbourne, with luxury fashion brands forming a focal point alongside gourmet fresh food precincts and value added services, a Westfield spokesperson confirmed. Meanwhile the other centres would be overhauled to provide destinational one-stop shopping experiences for their local demographics.

"These centres, together with the existing Westfield shopping destinations at Southland, Fountain Gate and Airport West will provide residents of Victoria with shopping experiences that are tailored to the individual needs of the surrounding communities. "

As part of a broad strategy to boost its fashion profile, public relations agency Haystac has been appointed as Westfield's designated agency for the Victorian region. The partnership would see "some spectacular launch plans" for the three centres under development during the course of 2008, the spokesperson confirmed.
