ADELAIDE: One of Adelaide's most prominent fashion retailers has been offered a rare opportunity to rumba.
Anne-Marie Gaganis, owner and operator of boutique chains Whistles and Wo Man, has been selected as one of only 30 buyers in the world to attend Rio de Janeiro Fashion Week in Brazil next year.
Gaganis is one of the first Australian buyers to attend the five-day fashion festival, with reports that organisers invest close to $17,000 to accommodate each international delegate.
Gaganis - who stocks labels such as Zimmermann, Nevenka, Bracewell, Seduce and Wayne Cooper – said she would spend her time hunting for swimwear labels not currently available in the local market.
Rio de Janeiro Fashion Week will kick off early next month.
