SYDNEY: Boutique eyewear brand Cutler and Gross has relaunched into the Australian market following an overhaul of its national retail strategy.
The UK-based brand, which has signed Eye Candy Optics as its new Australia distributor, pulled back its operations two years ago when owners decided to realign the brand's supplier base.
Eye Candy Optics founder Catherine Federici said only a handful of retailers are now being sought in the optical and fashion industry.
"Cutler and Gross has undergone a major revamp and emerged in strategic and exclusive path according to their new plan for the brand. They are quite clear on the calibre of retailer, in-store representation and exclusive arrangements in order to maintain their high-end yet underground appeal."
The latest collection, which retails from $500, takes its inspiration from iconic film 'The Graduate' and includes styles for men and women. Colours include bluebell blue, candy red, cloudy white, mother of pearl, pale gold, inky blue and mocha for women and two-toned combinations of turtle shell to grey and graduated grey to pink for men.
Custom-designed pinstripe acetate, which has been used together with a select group of frame styles, is also been offered for the first time.
