'Environmentally aware' shoe set to hit market
SYDNEY: An Australian footwear company is set to add a new spin to the concept of carbon footprints.
Sydney-based manufacturer Simple Shoes will shortly introduced a new range of street-friendly footwear with an environmental conscience.
Made from 100 per cent organic cotton linings and collars the range, dubbed Ecosneaks, also use recycled plastic bottles for laces and recycled car tyre outsoles.
In remaining true to its vision, water-based cement was used in the construction of the shoe with recycled pulp used for order forms and boxes.
The brand, which features both men's and women's styles, will be stocked exclusively through Kathmandu stores with the first delivery set down for April.
The range is expected to retail for $130 per pair.
